I'll take your word for it and just slash the trunk and squirt in Remedy/diesel mix. It and it's roots will be dead before spring even thinks of getting here. Odd. I know that tree was specifically left standing in 2008 when I had that area logged, as the logger thought it might be a wild pear tree and it was pretty large even then and no others like it are here on this property anywhere that I've seen. Seems if it was all that invasive, they would be sprouting up everywhere.

There's 160,000 acres of trees all around me..the wildlife can hang out in the Govt land just fine and I wish they would.
