We have nearly 2 feet of the Great White Cowboy here. Temps have been -25 to -40 at our ranch for the past week. Our little village is 15 miles away and 900 feet lower. An inversion last Tuesday recorded 60 below F on several thermometers but our coldest that day was -40. Fed cows with the two tractors that live in the heated shop and so didn’t have to fight with cold iron at the other places.
The idiot in charge here didn’t lock the ram up last fall and first ewe limbed this morning, saved one of twins. Several more close, glad it has warmed up and forecast is above 0 F for next two weeks
No bugs or bears in evidence but several wolves have been trapped and are no longer cow killers.
