About 20 years ago I'd never heard of a beaver around here. My neighbor planted a few Cypress trees around a real nice pond of his. Well after a few weeks he thought his wife was running them over with the bush hog. Swears she didn't. A few weeks more went by and he was out of Cypress trees. Still believed she was running them over. Finally figured out he had a beaver problem, killed 2 and have never heard of anymore around here again.

No amount of $$ can make up for the damage and headache they've caused me. They tunnel everywhere and you have to be careful where you drive or walk because you never know when or where one of their tunnels have collapsed, not to mention the pasture their dams have flooded.

You just don't appreciate a good beaver.

I have skinned a lot of them. Caught as many as 12 in a day. But right now they aren't worth the effort of skin and put up. They do make great cat bait.

Same here. We used to have a guy that came out every year and trapped them but the amount of time it took to set up the traps, check them, etc just isn't worth it anymore. Our Lab/Greyhound mix killed a lot of beavers - until he finally got nailed when he was 10. He still finished her off but 10 staples later it was definitely a come to Jesus moment for him.

In addition to setting and checking traps, it takes a good hour to skin and stretch a beaver hide. You might average $12 on a stack of beaver pelts. A lot of time, work, and expense for very little money....... Hmmmm it is a wonder that ranchers and farmers haven't caught on to that. It sounds right up their alley.

It's been at least that long that I spotted a road kill. Wasn't anyone even talking about them that I could tell, but after that it seemed like a population explosion of them.

No amount of $$ can make up for the damage and headache they've caused me. I took that at face value until I watched your video. Now I'm all confused but I guess either way works......

Castor and meat sales is where the easy money in beavers is at.

The work never stops..... That's 3 in the last 30 days from the same set. But I can tell they still busy too as their lodge gets taller and more mud packed on to the sticks.
