Curious to know where your foundation dogs originated. Dear friend Jack Woolsey imported ACD's in the 50's. They were sizable with a lot of leg. Not at all like the typical dogs of today. My first male was bred by a neighbor who happened to have registered ACDs. After that (I was about 5) , I shipped in females from Arkansas and West Virginia. The one from WV was my first blue mottle. Both her sire and dam where Australian imports. In fact, the blue mottle female above is a great, great grand daughter of that first male and blue mottle female I started with. Her grand daughter, the red mottle above represents 7 generations of my program. My mother owns one of her daughters, marking 8 generations. We breed a litter every couple of years or so, mostly so our good friends and ourselves have good dogs around. At this point, I no longer care about papers and can't recall any of names of the lines I started with. I breed what I like. A bigger, rugged, athletic dog, that still looks like an ACD, with a mind like steel trap and loyal almost to a fault. I'm not personally a huge fan of the small, frail looking ACDs that dominante the show rings, but I also have a strong aversion to the floppy eared, Merle (tri-color, purple, chocolate, fill in any other fad, made up non-breed standard color of choice) curly tailed, blue eyed dog that everyone and their neighbors sells as "heelers"....

Thanks for the reply. You would have liked the dogs Jack imported. Had pics but lost them in a house fire. Unfortunate that the USA enthusiast's allowed the breed to be usurped by the AKC.
