This past week I sprayed Roundup on grass and weeds sprouts and on Sunday we had a good chance of rain middle of the week so I put out seed and rolled it in. Rain chance went away Monday so it's just laying there . Not looking like rain on next 7 days so maybe it will not sprout and die before we get moisture.

We got a 1/2" on 3/21 , this past weekend I wrote it off as a failure and made my mind up to plant tops in June . Monday I checked again and low and behold I found a few sprouts and then We got 3/10th yesterday. It might make it after all. I flagged several spots in the field where I put extra seed so I could differentiate between other weeds and grasses .

Good luck M-5 with your grass. Going out each day to see if you can see that slight fuzz that covers the ground from newly sprouted seed or springs, is exciting and nerve wrecking at the same time. If much of it comes up, you can count on the rhizomes to fill in the thinner spots.

I agree , the 85 I planted tops on last year got about 60% coverage . Iy would have been better if not for the crabgrass that wouldn't let the stolons touch the ground. I put out preemergece this year and kept weeds in check. Gonna be completely covered by fall if rain holds . The stolons grow 2" a day. Pretty amazing .

Went out looking at some Bermuda one fall that had some holes in it to see what it was doing. The deer had been working it hard where the runners were filling in. They had it well fertilized in spots.

Wow, that is a lot of growth. Looks like to be a top grass to cut every 30 days. I love the fact that if cut that often, it contains more protein in it than most grains we feed. But dang, that fertilizer is expensive!!
