wet and mud here.. and when it does freeze... it snows before.. insulating the ground so it doesn't freeze.. so its cold, snowy, with mud underneath... nice. Same here. Snowed all day yesterday, current temp 9 with -9 wind chill but back to the mid 50's by this weekend. And juuuuust when it starts to dry out enough to scrape around the bales we get another round.

Our last big rainfall...
We got 5 days off of rain and we are back on today.
But, we always deal with heavy rain in BC.

So, why did you put the low spot right there?

Last year was one of the wettest on record here. Was putting out bales, cutting the netting when one of the cows stepped flat on the top of my foot. Yowza! Except my foot literally sunk to my calf in the mud/muck. I was flopping around like a carp trying to get her off me, the mud sucked off my boot, did the sock walk of shame. But I'll still take that over a drought!

Our neighbours built up their property higher and put in a big horse barn. They then put in this rain system that basically takes all of their rainwater and dumps it directly into our cow shelter. After almost physically assaulting them they fixed it haha. Actually. It got really tense. But now the re direction has moved it to our feeding/working area. So that's been exciting…
