Just got a call from out local market that sells on Saturday. They will be open as usual but only buyers will be allowed in the sale ring area because of the 10 person rule. Has anyone else seen this in your area?

I haven't seen a limit on people. But there aren't many if any of the just sit and watch people.

The mayor of our town shut down the sale barn here. There is another sale barn that is still open about 40 miles away. They said if you wanted to leave your cattle here, they would ship them free to the other sale barn as it is owned by the same people that own our local sale barn.

Same here no spectators allowed ring side. Can't even go in the office to pick your check up. Hopefully some of these people are going to feel really stupid in a few weeks. At our local warehouse you have to order fertilizer at a window outside can't even go inside to get screwed.

I am anxious to see how the sale went in Somerville TN. I am not sure if the sale was Wednesday or today. When I find out, I will report it here.

You sure as heck can't no sale them if your not there. I'm not sure that I like that setup. I feel like I took a screwing last year on one a heifer calf out of a load and haven't been back to Turner county livestock since. If the buyers steal one calf off each seller they've had a good day. And it only happens when I don't sit through the sale and watch my cattle sell.

Our local Sat sale had said that they wanted only buyers and sellers of cattle there since we get alot of "lookers" and weekend farmers there.. The Friday sale said buyers only and there were very few anyway. They also know who the normal/regular people that do some buying. People were doing a very good job of scattering themselves around too my son said. I didn't go on Monday when he sold the 6 wt heifers that were supposed to be a part of the consignment sale and it got "grouped in" with the graded sale at that market because several had pulled out, some had sold a few weeks earlier at another sale as they were getting nervous on the general situation. We also don't sell unless one of us is there, and we pretty much agree what we think they ought to be bringing. In the past also had a buyer who would "keep tabs" if we couldn't be there. Like highgrit.... if they steal one of ours then we have lost on the whole group, and the buyers have had a good day. Had a heifer one time that was a "pig" and she was showing a "gut" .... most had brought 1.20-1.30 and she was one of 3 that were singled due to her weight not fitting in.... got her back for .52...... sold her about 6 weeks later for 1.28... I would have gone ballistic if she had sold for the .52... Nothing wrong, she just would eat herself so full.... looked almost bloated.... but of course a buyer wouldn't know that so I can kind of get it.... Feeders are up a bit here from what I've heard....

A couple of our guys hauled some empties we had left over, and been feeding, to Ft. Pierre yesterday, for the sale Friday, because the road to the hi way might get muddy. I have a bad feeling about it, but it's too damn far away to do anything about it.

We finished that branding that got canceled yesterday. Neighbor B wasn't there. I asked his hired man where he was. The reply was he went to the sale. They were having a big run, supposed to be 1,500 head. That many cattle and there wouldn't be any social distancing going on. I will get and post results and real numbers later.

Neighbor B said there was 800 head plus a good number on the video. He said that they were too high. The only actual price he quoted was $1.30 on a pair of 700 pound baldie steers and a char cross heifer that sure looked bred but he said she was preg check as being open weighed 700 and he got her for $0.97.

Are they allowing people to still go in. It's only buyers here and 10 people total. That includes the people working the ring.
