There's nothing better than a homegrown meal. I picked my kids up from their mom today and am making them homegrown steak, green beans with tomato and bacon, and sweet corn. The only store bought ingredient is the tomato as mine are a total loss this year. The garden has been pretty slow with all the rain but now we're getting somewhere.

BLT with homegrown mater's are the cats ass. But, I wouldn't push away your meal the way it sounds.
Glad the garden is gaining a little ground for you.

Don't need anything on a mater sandwich but salt pepper and mayo

Had our first homegrown maters last night and damn! they were good. The wife cut up some okra and yellow squash and fried them in the same skillet with cornmeal and that was my supper. There was some leftover roast but I decided that might just weaken the flavors of the veggies so I left that alone.

Absolutely agree with you, it's just great when you've made everything yourself, put it together. My kids work in the garden with me too, they love it because they have a lot of energy. And if you cook what you've grown yourself, it's great at all.
