Cut several fields with this Oat/Pea mix, which was a first for us.
I LOVE the smell, reminds me of snapping peas with my mom when I was little. Seeing some big differences in fields. Some as tall as me, others are waist high. All planted at the same time.
Anyone feed this mix before?

In the South it's either or . Oats are starting to boot in March and too cool for peas.

We have to plant oats I fall or sometimes winter to get a spring crop. I have seen peas cut and baled but only wrapped because they would never dry out here .

Oats will winter kill here. Like 3LT it won't be warm enough for the peas when the oats are ready to cut. Hay beans or peas and millet work pretty good here.

Oats / peas is a common mix here, I've always wanted to try it for baleage but haven't yet. I did mix sweet clover in with the oats I seeded this spring and it's looking to be doing quite well.
