I hate writing the check for it but love what it looks like after a few days. Just got thru putting 150# ac of amonina nitrate on the sprigs and 250# ac amonina nitrate on hay fields . Works out to be 26$ ac on one and 40$ ac on other.

That's beginning to look like my fertilizer bill. I was pleasantly surprised at my fertilizer bill, the 24-0-0-0-3S liquid fertilizer was $204.60 a ton.

Remembering the pics of your new storage barn, are you going to be selling the hay or is it for your own use?

Remembering the pics of your new storage barn, are you going to be selling the hay or is it for your own use? I'm selling quite a bit . That side has been improving every year . One reason I planted the other field this year. I still have some last year hay that I will feed this winter if I keep any , I am wanting to sell most of the cows and then buy back after I finish hurricane recovery. Good Grass at this time and hopefully a higher market soon .

Got it all out Wednesday night. Humidity was high and heavy dew Thursday morning. Bahiagrass don't like that much N it's already starting to yellow some but the Bermuda looks a shade or 2 darker this morning. Just need a 1/2 of rain today or tomorrow to get it just right.

See folks saying the get/pay $35 a bale and $20 to cut, rake and bale all the time.....so..... 1 bale for fertilizer, 2 1/2 for baling hauling and storing, add for additional loss if stored outside plus feeding technique......so if you grow 400 bales you “make” $3500. Such is the math for agriculture. Just had another 1.3 inches of rain on July 3rd. Been getting frequent rains since April, except for a 4 week period from the end of April into May that put fear of drought in me. Well that’s always in me now, but the itch to fertilize is quite strong, even after looking at numbers like this. Drove through some hay country yesterday and it sure looks pretty.

I planted 70 acres of BMR forage sorghum this year. I’m laying the N to it.
