We really don't have any thing real noteworthy right in the immediate vicinity, that would draw a lot of tourists from very far. A little ways west in and around Lexington there is Horse Park, Keeneland horse racing, Bourbon trail of distilleries. To the east is Natural Bridge and the Red River Gorge, lots of hiking trails, rock climbing, etc. People from all over the world go there to rock climb, and hikers are all time getting lost and having to be rescued.

Here not so much. The town here was a fair sized 100 years ago. Now looking from the freeway all you see is the old falling down junky little shacks. The town 30 miles away that I have to go to for gas, groceries, or anything else gets a fair number of tourists. There is the Oregon Trail Interpretative Center. It is where you get off the freeway to go to Hell's Canyon. And there is an old gold mining town that is all set up for tourists near there.
Up the road from me is the "Lost Dutchman Mining Association". They have a couple special events twice a year. They get 85-100 campers and motor homes in there for that. But there is no cell service up the canyon. So they have to drive past me a couple miles to call out. I think each one of them does that 3 or 4 times a day. The rest of the year there is only a couple dozen cars a day.

The only tourist around here are the deer hunters from Florida. Not sure what state you are in, but I’m proud to be a Florida tourist deer hunter in any state! It means I’m not home working. Normally, I “vacation” in GA or VA. This year, I will add WY to the list.

TC, that ball of twine your folks stopped to see in in Cawker City. We use to go over there pheasant hunting, but never stopped to see.
If anyone is in the South East Kansas/North East Ok. area a short trip up to West Mineral, Ks. is Big Brutus. It's now a small park, and if you have young boys they will be amazed at it. Before it became the park it is now, there were less restrictions. It's boom is 16 stories high. I walked up the stairs one nice, sunny day. When I got to the top...all I wanted was down!

20 miles out of Nashville, it's a crazy town now, I have to work there every 3rd day but go in before 6. Traffic is crazy. A few things coming here it's the world's biggest destination for bachloret parties, they start arriving on Wednesday stay through Monday, then all the other stuff that comes here. Downtown is always full.

Does a Tyson Chicken Feed plant count as a tourist trap? I live in the middle of nowhere, but there is a Tyson feed plant at the end of the road. The tractor trailers continually come by to deliver feed and pick it up. There used to be so little traffic here, but now you better look both ways twice before pulling out in the road.

I think the only rig that went by the house today was me. Creek is to low for the kayakers and to dang hot for the hikers.
