I'm good with the staff picking one, but tho it may not mean much to them (or it may) there does need to be some way to recognize those that contribute greatly of their own experience to the CATTLE part.

I'm not voting because my pick is not listed, and I'm not even sure it can be implemented. I want just two rankings: Member and Mentor. I think when a person gets to a certain number of thumbs up's from the members they should be increased to the rank of Mentor. To do this you would have to limit the reasons that thumbs button could be used or counted. The helpful posts should be eligible for a thumbs click but a joke or something not cattle related shouldn't be. I think of this as if I'm reading I would know that a certain member gives consistent reliable information.

I'll leave it up to you. I gave up my rank and fancy titles when I left the Corporate world. Now I'm just someone that loves her cattle, hopefully able to contribute to a discussion and learn from others experience/expertise.

I was thinking similarly along these lines. IMHO "rank" should be associated with the 'cattle' related info/threads. As for post counts, those are what they are, just the amount of posts a member has made. |
