I'm pretty sure you're right Slick, I bet it's someone with just a few that sells there. I saw some old cows at that same sale a few years back with the Leachmans hairpin brand on them. I wonder what became of that deal, do they even raise them anymore? They used to do a lot of promotion, then it all went quiet. They must have sold them all over the country if some found there way here.

I got her at Carolina Stockyards, Siler City, N.C. I have seen Piedmontese butcher cattle sell crazy high there. As far as an occasional cull cow or bull. The packer buyers know what they yield, and it must be crazy good. The calf buyers don't seem to know too much about them though, and they don't seem to want learn about them either. I bid one time and got mine...lol. Is Siler City sale still on Saturday and Monday? I picked up my Wilson trailer there in 2002 I think. Also back then Saturday sales weren't allowed in NC. Is it still like that?

Yes sir, they sale on Monday and Friday. No cow sales in NC on Sat. Nearly all of our better cattle go to Va.

Piedmontese are my favorite cattle. The meat is out of this world tender. I just wish they did not discount them at the sale barn. It defies all logic in my book. That is a great looking bull.

Thanks, Chuckie! I'm pretty fond of them too. Had a 9 year old cow come up open not long ago and took her to the barn. Almost cried when I saw the $64 kill price. Don't guess they hit her too bad because $68 was tops that day.
