A lot of my friends are going on vacations with their kids and families. Keys, bahamas, out west. Its making me kind of jealous, I like to travel. Our next little trip is back to florida for a wedding, but thats not really a vacation. Our next real vacation is Ireland once we can save up
What is everyone doing this summer while the kids are out of school?

I took the kids down to Galveston about two weeks ago. They even got me out on a boogie board.

Our kids got out of school a long time ago. We are going the Yellowstone and the surrounding area in mid September once the kids are back in school. The wife as never been any where so we are planning to take a trip or two a year. The Grand Canyon, Alaska, Glacier, Mt Rushmore and the Canadian Rockies are all on the radar. Trips will most likely be in September or March/April. Slow times of the year around here.

Headed to the GCA summer conference in Hiawassee for some cooler weather, water skiing and golf next week. Then after hunting season we're off to the Parker Ranch in Hawaii for another conference and some cattle siminars. I'm also needing to check out some cattle in SW Virginia for sale in August, anyone know when bear season starts?

If I take off work. I work. Last vacation was 2010 spent 4 days at the beach. 3 days away from home is about my limit.

We don't have any children of our own, but a couple kids that my wife has been friends of their family for years, stay with us a few weeks during the summer. As for our vacations, I hadn't been on any over night trips for over 20 years till I married a few years ago. Now we consider going to Oklahoma to visit her family our vacations now.
We went to OK back in June, and as we were getting ready to head out back home, we got the news that my wife's aunt had been washed off of the road and killed in a flash flood. We stayed almost another week, but after that it was a sad time for sure.

Running season starts August 1st I'm going to try and make up on the 3rd, hopefully they'll be running bear on the weekend. If it cools off enough someone will be running. Otherwise we will ride and look. |

I’ve been trying to think of somewhere to take the kids. Beach is out for sure. I hate that place and they don’t like going anymore.
Thinking maybe headwaters of the Mississippi but not sure I can get away.
