Fence saying that he "took" a bull to the pairs reminded me of an event this spring. Neighbor B gathered 150-200 pairs out of a big pasture and drove them down the old highway about 3 or 4 miles to the corral. We were supposed to meet there at 2:00 to brand the calves. He called and canceled the branding. I happened to be down by the corral at about 5:30. The cows were just starting to get there. They weren't lined out and traveling but bunched up and having to be pushed every inch of the way. I stopped and waited to help the herd make the turn toward the corral. Turned out there was three bulls in the lead. Two of them were fighting and the other trying to breed a cow. This was preventing the herd from moving. It can be much easier to haul the bulls than to herd them. Sometimes they move easy. Other times they bring the whole operation to a halt.

It's pretty because he's only an hour and a half or so west of God's country.
