Out in the irrigated field I have some low spots. This is flood irrigation so when I put the water on those low spots fill up with water which stays there for a week or so. They are scattered around. In a 35 acre field if you totaled the area of all those spots it would be close to an acre. Any ideas on what and how to get something growing in them.

Don't know if it will grow where ever you are but eastern gammagrass would be a good fit and a great forage.

I don't think the Eastern Gramma would stand that much water.

Reed Canary but don't ask me how to get it established. One of my solutions and problems all at the same time. I have to broadcast something and harrow it in. Leveling or working the ground is out. This field is right along the river. There are lots of old gravel bars from the river in this field. People in the know here say don't put a plow into that ground.

No help from here. I have to dig a hole to fill in a low spot. Anything native here that grows in low damp spots, the cows won't touch.
