That is definitely not cheap. Too bad that the quart has been discontinued. Again, thank you for the link.

Flies had gotten bad on the cows and they are away from the lots. So I took a gallon of the $25 synergized mix, a hand sprayer and 10 gallons of feed to the pasture yesterday evening. Put the feed around the bed of the truck and sprayed from the bumper. I think early mornings and late evenings work the best because I am not getting the full dose on per cow but those are the times of day when the flies come off of the belly and sides and are up on the back. The cows do not like the feel of the spray (in a stream) but within 10 minutes they were losing most flies and looking slick and oily enough to be in a 4 color, high dollar sales catalog.
How do they get the cows to look so well-oiled in those high dollar sale books anyhow?

I have used this mix for 2 years with good results. My dilution rate for the permethrin is 4 oz. It works well so have stayed with it. I use a sprayer and mist it. Back pouring isn't possible for us in many pastures. I get around 14 days of control.

I ordered chemicals for both recipes, should have been here today but hopefully tomorrow (rained all day anyway). I've never seen flies so bad! Anxious to try them out. BTW I just dump cubes, use a pour on gun and walk through them.

Little update: Ordered from www.domyown.com/demand-cs-p-46.html on 9/9 and STILL haven't received it. My bad, initially thought it was being shipped UPS instead of USPS but still, 9 days and according to the tracker hasn't made it even remotely close to it's final destination? Not feeling the love. Prob get it just in time for the rain Fri - Mon.

FedEx left my daughter's fancy new smartphone tied to our front gate, at least it was inside a plastic bag.

When we lived in TX a friend sent us one of those "tower of chocolates" as a thank you gift. Not sure if it was FedEx or UPS but it was tied it to our entrance gate. Yup, totally melted, in every box.

Who knew spraying for flies would be such an ordeal? Stopped by the post office Fri to see where my package was and they said the tracking number was actually a pre-tracking number, post office wasn't even in possession. Called DoMyOwn and they discovered it had never been mailed but would expedite, should receive it Tues. I'll be darned, got a slip in Saturday's mail to pick up my package (post office won't deliver to the house, which is a mile from our mailbox). Picked up the package today and was down at the barn mixing the ingredients for Ultra Sabre when a FedEx van showed up, started honking his horn at the gate over the cattle guard. Mmmm, Hello? Said he had a package for me from DoMyOwn - and couldn't find the house. ***See aforementioned Reading Is Fundamental!!!"*** So now I'll have to call DoMyOwn again and will most likely just have them charge my card for the 2nd shipment instead of sending it back because the 1 gallon corn oil/ingredients barely covered my herd (including most of the calves) and I'll definitely use it.
Soooo sprayed the herd, Johnson (head bull) kicked the snot outta my left thigh when I got too close spraying his "undercarriage" and anxious to see no more flies (preferably for more than a week).
