Looks like our only hope is that maybe a dumocrat will win in 2020 and fix the beef industry like Obama did in 2014 - 2015. This is getting ridiculous.

Obama did not have anything to do with 14 cattle markets. All the Dems do is offer more free money to welfare Farmers. If a socialist wins you can kiss everything you care about goodbye. There won't be any cattle industry

So Obama had the ability to control the weather causing wide spread drought leading to the massive cow sell off that caused the lowest cattle inventory in years?

Easy now, the massive fires, flooding and blizzards haven't produced anything but handouts and lower prices.

They're bad situations for all involved but nothing compared to the conditions preceding and during the time frame your talking about.

I'm sure ncba will have our backs.....or stab them maybe. Screw NCBA, but they do control the cattle market. All US cattle over 18 months of age that will go back to the farm or transported across state lines will need EID tags. And the millions of Mexican cattle 20 - 36 months old that come across the US border yearly in Texas won't need EID tags because their heading to slaughter. I blew a head gasket at a USDA workshop and even called them all bad names.

You do realize that the ranchers were getting record prices for the cattle they we culling during the drought. I think the high cattle prices were because of all the land that was being farmed for ethanol

Only ones that got record prices were those that happened to be in a drought in 2014.... sad to say, those prices weren’t much different than last December so I guess that was good after all.... NOT!

That right there is what I'm talking about, cattle were sold in many places due to drought in the years prior to the high prices. That is what made the prices go up, a few were fortunate to sell down during the high prices most weren't.

I see absolutely no reason for foreign companies to own packing houses, grain elevators, or any other company having to do with our food supply and natural resources.
