How'd you get the steer out of the tree? Lifted up under his chin, and he got to fighting and rearing up and got loose. He got a front foot momentarily caught, then, and I thought he might break a leg, but it came out. He was disoriented and mad at the world, but probably okay. Roads are blocked, and storming today, so nothing got checked.

Taking him to the halal slaughter facility? That's just silly They don't do pigs, plus I didn't cut his throat I shot him behind the ear. Also some other pigs witnessed his execution.

Yeah thats a bummer. I had one early this fall that I found like that but was stuck in the mud at the edge of the pond. I guess she goth thirsty. She was breached. She had so much mud on her, I couldn't tell which cow it was until I got her out and read her ear tag. It had to happen while I was away looking after my dad who was in the hospital.

A bad deal there Fence. Looks like you had the same fog we do this morning. Hard to tell in the picture, but is that calf deformed?
Buzzards done got the cows eyes?

Just a big box headed bull calf. And yes I suspect from the blood flowing down here face the heart was still beating when the buzzards got here eye.

Fence, I hate to see that. I don't take it to well when I lose an animal. Funny that I send some to the sale barn, yet one dies in my care makes my heart hurt. I will never get used to it. Looked like a good cow and calf.
