We aren't pulling the bull, trying to bring the herd around to spring from fall, but last year was 45 days, all but 2.We are at 30 plus now with 9 out of 15 so far. I expect some late ones next year due to late weaning.

Mine is all screwed up. I had it at 75 days but sold that ranch plus my fall calving place and had to incorporate all the animals onto my new place. After the first year here I decided that my usual early winter calving period that worked so well on the old place wasn't the best idea on this place. The grass peters out to early in the summer.
So now in the process of backing everything up to start in early September. Was making decent progress but culled off some older cows and replaced them with some that were suppose to be four months bred. That would have them calve in September with the main herd. One calved in May, two in June and two more in July.
I guess I will pull the bull and just let all those have a free ride for a few months. I guess there could be worse problems.

Heifers are with bulls 35 to 40 days, pulling bulls corresponds with a busy hay season. Last year there were 19 open from 137 heifers and 5 bulls.
Bulls stay with cows until we find them but as Silver does, we rely on the vet to find the late ones. We are normally 6 to 9% open or outside of a 45 day window with 80 to 85% calving in the first 30 days. They had better be an exceptional young cow to stay if they are later than that.
