You fellas that dove hunt farms and pastures, what are you using to bring in doves when you can't plant?
Combine wheat is cheap, I think I'm gonna start scattering it on my roads until the season gets close.

If you have a water hole spread a blue tarp out feed them on tarp up until about 10 days before season. Remove tarp and any residual. Then day or two before season put out a blue tarp.

I just finished planting Brown top. You still got time to plant it i have planted in july. I have ran a disk threw strips in late august and had it to come up a good stand from seed from the spring planting.

I spread wheat, sunflowers and cracked corn under some power lines where my cows graze. The cows seem to have problems eating their feed off bare ground for some reason.

I know this doesn't answer your question.
But just throwing it out there. A guy I used to deer hunt with said they'd leave a small spot of wheat standing through the summer, and a few days before season they'd light it on fire.
Said it was as good of hunting as anything he seen. And didnt break any rules.
