I have one but probably don't use it for what it's intended purpose was. What is it?

Can't see the flat end but looks like a radiator comb

Not a radiator comb...the individual rods are very tightly held against each other even if you can move the band close to the handle and they are some kind of hardened steel. I suspect it is a scraper of some kind but exactly for what, I don't know. The end of the rods is flat/dull, not angled to a sharp edge. Mine is not the first one I've seen but it's been a very long time since I saw another one.

Never mind. Found out, it's a carbon scraper. An old one. I use mine sometimes to clean slag off low hyd welds.

Looks very similiar to the tubing bender I have in my plumbing toolbox from my days as a plumber. Any grooves on top?

I don't know..I've seen something very similar to this on a sail boat. It was used to either tighten a line or lock line down..or group of lines. (I'm not a sailor)
(Edit. Ok, I see now. It's 1/2 of a tubing bender. Missing the other handle)

A lot of parts were home made when they plowed with a mule. Most had a trace chain that dropped in the implement. I'm sure some we're made of wood that came off of The single tree. I could be wrong but knowing the history of the vegetable farming at your place I would think he would have to do with the mules

It didn't come from here, but there were probably mules where it did come from. It is definitely blacksmith. What the pics didn't quite show is the points are rather sharp.
