It's a burnishing tool to put a nice even burr on a scraping tool.

Around here everone used a cant hook to roll logs.

Around here everone used a cant hook to roll logs. Well you can of course. They are made for rolling cants. Only difference between a peavey and a cant hook it a peavy has a pointy end and a cant hook has a hook on the end.
