We've been broke down since November 1st and the dealer hasn't found out what the problem is. Between Land Pride - Great Plains someone should know what the heck is wrong with our new no - till seed drill.

What is the main malfunction?? The passenger side won't stay up, or down when you're planting.

The fluid has to be moving for the cylinder to move. It's either running out on the ground or the tractor is not holding pressure.

The dealer already tried pulling that BS, and there's no fluid on the ground. This drill has a rephrasing cylinder or something. I think it's a check valve or proportioning valve. Theresa told Land Pride we want a new drill, this one's a lemon. This kinda crap happens to me all the time, I guess it's pay back from the old days.

Darryl it acts like the cylinder is blown. But two dumb azz commercial fisherman and countless mechanics have inspected the packing, glands and cylinder and it looks perfect. If we have to wait a week for parts, doing trial and error parts changing is going to take forever to get it fixed. I bought it because I need it to get through the year on what little hay we have. At the moment we're still lacking planting about half the place.

Just go to the field lower and disconnect hoses and plant in circles until your done.

I haven't messed with rephasing cylinders since I got rid of the john deere disk so I'm a bit rusty on the full set up. They have to be sized correctly, one slightly smaller then the other, you have to raise the implement all the way up to get both cylinders to work the same going down. One question would be are the cylinders and hoses installed correctly, visually there isn't much difference in the two cylinders.
I would be demanding a new pair of cylinders if I couldn't identify any problems with the routing of the hydraulic lines.
If you was closer I have a Sunflower drill for sale.

The drill worked perfectly and was better than we expected for 46 acres then the passenger side started lifting up and dropping while you were planting.

The main problem is that it isn't a Haybuster

The main problem is that it isn't a Haybuster Believe me I was thinking that myself, but I already had a Haybuster and this drill when it was working properly is twice the drill of a Haybuster.

I have drilled 27.5 ton of seed threw a 107 haybuster this fall without a hitch. A Haybuster drill has a few issues that a Great Plains doesn't. It won't plant seed that hasn't been cleaned very good, the openers get clogged with mud because of the design, and you can't put enough down pressure to cut hard packed pastures when needed. Besides not being able to trailer a Great Plains - Land Pride easily I haven't found anything that a Haybuster excelled at between the two. And a new rephrasing cylinder fixed our issues for the time being.
