It's all about the money. It has to sell in some order. If you sell the best first then the crowd will fade. Like voting: bid early and often. You'll be the winner.

most sell everything good at first here.. tractors and machinery first.. trucks..trailers.. smaller equipment, big shop items.. then smalls.

Here they will split it up a bit. Keep the tractors and such for about halfway through. Keeps a good crowd around. Sell the really little used stuff towards the end, but will have alot of it mixed in.

I used to like going to auctions but when the greedy bastards charge the seller 10% and the buyer 10% I told all the auctioneers that call me to come to their sale to kiss my ass. If you factor in they try and get new money for items alot of folks get taken to the cleaners.

i factor the fees into my bid. i put a figure in my head before it even comes up.. and thats what i stick to. I see a lot of people get carried away..

Getting people carried away bidding is the whole idea behind an auction. I to hate the idea of charging the buyer. A few years ago it wasn't done, now it seems to be common. At the cow sale Thursday the auctioneer was going real fast running up the bid on a group of calves. He took 2 bids off me where I never so much as blinked. Had he decided that I bought them we would have had a discussion right then and there in front of everyone.
