8 more days until I start strip grazing the stockpile fescue. The dry fall really hurt the production. Hope to graze until February at least. A good fall would have produced enough to do till March.

Here they are getting the last little bit of regrowth in the hay fields and lower elevation range. Probably half have started feeding. Most of the calves are gone. Once feeding starts it will be April before there is anything to graze. Another bunch came marching down out of the hills yesterday. You can tell it was a good grass year the cows were in great shape. Big soggy Char cross calves that will really pound down the scale.

4 more days. Can hardly wait . But have been planning this since July so not going to change plans now. Been planning on starting grazing the stockpile of fescue December 20. No feeding except 44 weaned calves through all the holidays.

First year with stockpile and it is great. I turned out on mine the first Sunday in December, nice not having feeding cut into my bear hunting. Should have plenty to get me to the end of the season.

Gotta be better than the mud pits hay rings get you. Calves and cows look great so far.

It's 62 and sunny today. Giving in the 60's for several days. May go back to unrolling hay and save the stockpile until it's wet and muddy

Yes they are back grazing again. It turned cold and wet so I quit unrolling hay and put them on the next paddock.

Just a few more days of grass but the paddocks that haven't had any cattle on them in 40 days are green and growing a little. Start feeding hay maybe Sunday. Gonna be in the 60's Monday
