Pretty sure they belong to a woman and her almost grown daughter about a mile up the nearest road, but they seem to be out of town for the holidays. Those 2 are close kin to the sheriff that lives about another mile up the same road, so I better pay him a visit tomorrow.

Then if they aren't the neighbors, then you can contemplate other options.

Did call Sheriff dept and a deputy came out. Just made a note that they were here but asked me to keep them confined and try to find the owner, which I did.(Sheriff and his Dept is in a bit of disarray right now due to a bad auto accident that resulted in one officer dead when he rear ended another deputy at high rate of speed...he wasn't wearing a seat belt). I don't think he realized that State law places the responsibility on SD to do something about loose livestock. I did find who they belonged to (the lady I originally suspected owned them. She FINALLY came down Saturday morning (had been out of town) said she was going back home to decide what to do. (I figured look at her fences) and I told her if she was going to leave them here any length of time, she needed to bring some hay. She returned late that afternoon with ONE small sq bale of hay. (early and hard frost here means no grass to speak of. They're in good condition right now, but going to drop off quick unles...One sq bale...wtf? Said she would return and try to pick them up in a couple of days.
I don't at all mind them being here but her attitude was pretty nonchalant/cavalier about it. I have them separated from my chars and beefmasters..don't want no bull fight and I doubt she'd want that purebred Angus bred to a beefmaster bull either, but I have a feeling the 2 animals are going to be here awhile... I reckon I'll put a round bale out for 'em..they gonna have to drink out of the pond tho.

Glad you know for sure who they belong to but agree, her attitude needs adjustment. We've had various bulls find their way in our pastures but fortunate that the neighbors get them out immediately after we call. Another neighbor had some steers get out a few years ago and I found one on the road, put him in one of my pastures and he was out here within hours to get him back even though I told him whenever it was convenient.

Over on the coast one of the neighbors had a bull belonging to someone else invade his place a number of times. The last time he had in the corral for about a week feeding it. He had called a number of times and got excuses. Finally he called and said this bull will be leaving in an hour. You can come load him up or I will push him out on the road and head him your direction. He came and got the bull. Here no one gets excited about wandering cows. My drive to town today there will be around 20 cows eating in the ditch or wandering down the road. In fact I was talking to neighbor B yesterday and he said a couple dozen strays should come by my place pretty soon. He had got them pushed down out of the hills and then he had other things to do. Last seen they were 5 or 6 miles up the county road headed my way at a good clip. But the river runs right along the road and there is grass so it might take a day or two for them to make it here.
