When we fed yesterday, it was 61* outside. Just before I went to bed, it showed it to be 64* which is not a good sign. I told my husband that from what I saw on the computer, that we were in for a bad night. When I heard the large limb smack the glass doors early this morning, I went into the bedroom where he was asleep as I had fallen asleep in the recliner. I do believe if the roof was gone over his head, that I could take a sheet of plastic and lay over the top of him and he would not get up. I shook him for a minute, then the Catahoula jumped up in the bed with him. That woke him up. He mumbled a few words that made no sense and I told him that the weather was getting rough. I would at least think he would go stand in the hallway if it got worse; but no, he went back to sleep.
When he got up this morning he asked me, "Did the dog jump up in the bed with me?" Ha-ha!!!!!! I am not sure if he remembered me waking him up or not, but did know that Mike landed in the middle of the bed. Mike is afraid of really bad weather.

My wife's sister and BIL live less than an hour out of Nashville. Reportedly raining hard.

I'm the same way Chuckie in a storm. Once I decide to go ahead and just go to bed, it doesn't much matter what happens as long as the house is still on foundation.

TCranch, keep that stuff down there, please. We're 19 with fine snow falling. With the way the wind is blowing, what I see going by will probably get to the ground near you! I can't imagine folks paying hundreds of dollars for tickets and $60 to park to watch a football game in this kind of weather. But the stadium will full of them tomorrow! And they get there a few hours early to party. Guess that's were the term fan (fanatic) came from. It was 25, wind chill 15 when we went out to feed. Or more accurately, I scooped out the bunks, fed and struggled with the frozen netting on the bales while hubby was in the tractor. And yet the sun was shining, wind had died down considerably and I was sweating by the time we I was done. 45 tomorrow - hello, muddy mess! When we lived in Wisconsin we braved not quite blizzard conditions to go to a Packers game. But this was before they rebuilt the stadium and we were packed in like sardines. Plus it was Reggie White's last game - couldn't miss that!

Looks like Bigfoot lost another barn last night. Tornado? No injuries/fatalities?

Probably 3 1/2 gallons of premium pecans. Choctaw mostly. Some Burkett. Not sure what the third is. The wind must have been harder than I thought.
Lots of native pecans for the grandsons to sell when they get back to picking.

I am sorry for the loss of property that anyone experienced. I hate the clean up with a passion.
It scraped up the hood of my 950 JD. Grrrr!!
When I was getting all the limbs off the fence, I found the little door that is on the side of my calf hutch. I forgot to see if it was there. When I got back to the barn, it was gone. I wonder what the odds are of finding it in once piece? Probably a very small chance. It sure did come in handy when a bottle baby comes along. My #208 cow has twins more often than not. This last spring, she had a single bull. I guess I will start pricing new ones and then see if I can gain anything by finding a used one.
Tomorrow I will have to take the chainsaw out to the fence and cut down a few trees that fell across the fence. It did not put the wires on the ground on the wet ground, so there is plenty current going through. They have brought the numbers down slightly on the electric fence box. but not enough they will get out. It just got too dark to finish the job today.

We got hit hard, took an hour and a half to cut my way to the end of our road. Power out everywhere, said it could be quite a while before we got it back. Thank goodness for whole home generator on natural gas. Took the roof of the brand new Dolla Gentral.

I figure if I pay attention during daylight hours I cut my already slim chance of losing my life to severe weather in half and that's close enough for me.

according to BF, it was a tornado and it completely 'removed' a 36' x 48' weaning/livestock shed from his property. Nothing left but a utility pole from the pic I saw. No livestock or human injury tho.

No livestock or human injury tho. I know the exact shed you are talking about, he let me keep a couple of bulls in there one night on the way back from Indiana.

I looked on Wunderground radar, and it was showing tornadoes in the area. But I feel that it was only straight line winds. When a true tornado comes through, you can literally see where the trees are twisted in two. It looks like a million giant tooth picks in a circular pattern Other areas did have tornadoes. A man down the road from me had the top removed from his huge equipment shed. I have not seen it yet as I was too busy cleaning up the mess here.
