I'm the same way Chuckie in a storm. Once I decide to go ahead and just go to bed, it doesn't much matter what happens as long as the house is still on foundation. I slept through our first tornado. But I was calving out heifers and set my alarm for 2 a.m. Knew we didn't have power but when I got down to the barnyard I was wiiiiiide awake! Holy hell!!! Plus it blew out the back of the barn & all my heifers were missing. Found them all, only one had a nasty gash but otherwise fine. Also slept through our first earthquake. And yet when Hubby starts rockin' the house with his snoring it's either strangle him or bail to a guest room - downstairs.

I am not afraid of storms, but the strength of the wind was so hard that it woke me up. I sleep pretty good.
tcranch, my husband snored so loud when we first got married. He would kick so hard and jerk his arms. I counted 60 seconds that he was holding his breath before he thrashed his arms and legs. I guess his brain was telling him if he didn't breathe, he was going to die. He was having trouble staying awake and was tired all the time. He fell asleep one day on the way home from work and took out a light pole with a transformer on it. He was OK, but the truck had a huge dent right in the center of the grill and hood. It was a F-350, otherwise, it would have been totaled.
I talked him in to going to the doctor. When he went through the sleep study for two nights; we went back to talk to the doctor, he said that my husband was the worst case that he had seen.
Now he is on a C-Pap machine and he sleeps all night long. Sometimes his mask will start leaking air, and it starts making a squealing sound. I have a parrot that can re-create any sound. So when his mask starts leaking the bird joins in with him in the middle of the night. There is no way any of us can sleep through that racket!!

He actually just had 2 sleep studies because apnea is one of the main causes of a-fib. Both tests (home and at a sleep study facility) were somewhat inconclusive but indicated no apnea although I can't grasp the accuracy because both studies said he only slept a total of 3.4 hours. Unless that's all he usually sleeps at night, which may be why he's prone on the couch half the day. Things that make you go hmmmmmm. The parrot story is hilarious!
