A friend (I invited him to the board, so we may see him), sent me this last night. There is some blood tinted fluid at the tip of the AI syringe after Insemination. This could be some leakage of blood from the uterine wall. Blood is a spermicide so it is not good. I have seen it a couple times and in both cases, I got conceptions. But it is good that he is watching the tip after Insemination. You should never force the syringe. It should enter by guiding it, not forcing it. You should also watch for infection. I have never seen infection as white blood cells. Infection could be signs of metritis. Or she hasn't cleared after partum.

I will add. The white behind the blood tinted fluid is the cotton plug not infection.

Thanks for the response, post, invite, and info BR.
I’ll have another go at it here in an hour or so, Have one back in heat that I attempted 19days ago. Each time I’m learning more. But also different hurdles appear each time. Easily best described as two steps forward, one step back. And I’m making sure I learn from that ‘one step back’ if at all possible

Please post reports on your progress, results and of course, questions. This place is going to get boring if we don't get some newbie business going.

Could be several things, trauma as mentioned one. Infection does not always look like pus. Also keep in mind that metestrus generally happens 1 to 3 days after heat (estrus). The spike in estrogen causes the lining to be leaky. Might be for one reason or another, that she was AI'd after heat.

She came back in yesterday, bred her yesterday PM. Well, I didn't, I had my neighbor from down the road come hit her. Don't want her calving date to keep falling back
The one I bred in the above mentioned post, on the following day, has not shown heat yet. Zero activity this AM so far, day 22.5/23. Patch completely intact. Crossing fingers.

The cow I bred the following nite has still not shown heat, since my last post 14 days ago. Another cow I bred on 1-28-20, has passed over as well so far. NOTE: Both of these last two I bred, I used two straws. And it helped they were calm in the chute. Obviously two attempts give me better possibility of conception. But also the simple fact of the the practice and experience of another attempted breeding. Both times I treated that cow like she was two. Setup, routine, breed. Then started all over again with my second straw as if there was another cow to breed. May have worked out for me in more ways than one.
