We run a small herd of Reg Black Angus. And “No Bull” describes us VERY well. The importance of AI to me is extremely high
We’ve just started to do a touch of ET work. Taking our bottom third cows, their first round breeding they get ET if CL present. Whoever cycles there after is a perfect situation for me to AI myself as I am very green doing my own insemination. Most of the top third gets sorted semen. Females are just more valuable at this point for multiple reasons. We’ve sold a few bulls recently but have a long road ahead in building a respectable market for ourselves. We’ve started to sell bred cow/heifer at CKAA. Actually have a Capitalist heifer bred to Flat Top selling on the 25th. We will also be consigning at Great Meadows AA and plan on selling at KY sweepstakes next year.
