Had a line bust on tractor yesterday. Could not find a part number on my diagrams so I went by dealership today and after 30 min we finally found the right part and one was in Indiana and other in Texas. He said it would take 4 or 5 days to get here . I told him to look up size and fittings and just make me one. He said I got rid of all my metric hose ends . I asked when nh and Italy switched to SAE he just looked stupid and I pointed to everything on the lot and said they are all metric. I left and came home 30 minutes to remove everything just to spend 3 min removing hose. I will take it to the hydraulic shop tomorrow and have one made hopefully.

I'm sure you can braze something on the old fitting if you have to make it work.

You're in a geographical oddity...4-5 days from everywhere..
When I worked at both a Kubota and a Komatsu dealership, we had oem duplicate hyd lines made at a local auto or tuck parts place. They generally lasted longer than the originals but our parts dept tacked on a big margin over what the local shop charged them for the line.

Had the same falling out with a Kioti dealer several years back. Great tractor but you couldn’t get parts or a mechanic to work on it. CAT is the only ones here that can make a hose off a part number and it fit. Surprisingly their hoses are cheaper than anywhere else I can get them made locally. Pretty frustrating when you need it fixed and get any parts.

The local industrial supply made me one in about 10 min . 63. Bucks and to order one was 89.00 and 12 shipping. It was m22 x 1.5 orfs . Dumb ass NH dealership doesn't realize that when you send people elsewhere they will bypass you next time.

I've heard of some crazy prices from them..$400 for a door striker latch, $12K for a fan hub... $4K for a service manual...

Cat here wants a serial number of piece of equipment before they will even try. I wanted an oring last year and the sorry ass clerk would not even attempt to help. It is rediculous what the service industry has turned in into.

Makes you wish those old parts houses were still around. We still have a good one 2 towns over, happens to be a Napa but the guys have been there forever and still run it like the old ones.

Not long ago I told the manager at the Belton Texas case dealer that his parts counter might be able to serve more than one customer per hour if he'd get em to put their sandwiches down for a a few minutes.

It is rediculous what the service industry has turned in into. Cummins/Dodge is no better.. My truck is cobbled together with parts from a Ford, and all sorts of dodges from various years.. I need the turbo to manifold gasket for the 6.7s with the VGT turbo.. they're ALL THE SAME.. Now of course I don't have a VIN number or serial or CPL, but there was NO WAY they could get me that gasket Then I spied with my little eye a box of parts for another customer, lo and behold, the gasket was in there! I said HERE, this is what I #%$$#%$%^& need you useless twat.. Absolutely infuriating 3LT, Once when we still had a NAPA in town, we needed brushes for a Toyota alternator... We walked in with the old one, the guy SOMEHOW rattled off a 10 digit number off heart, went to the back and got the brushes we needed... I have NO IDEA how he knew that part number, because it's impossible this little town would have sold many of them

The last time I needed a part for the truck the bastard on the phone wanted the VIN number. I explained to him I was not giving him the VIN I only wanted to know if they had the part. He said he couldn't help me with out it. I looked up the part number and then called him back and asked for the specific number. He looked it up finally and as usual didn't have it in stock. So I still had to order online from a dealership In south Florida.

One of the reasons parts places (especially ag related) want the vin is to cross check to see if the unit is on a stolen equipment list. Every distributor I ever worked for had that database available to them.
