This bull will put some pounds on calves if the cows can handle the BW. I bought 2 canes on him. His females are big strong, girls with big well shaped feet. I stopped using him and still have about 6 straws left. The calves averaged about 95 pounds with a few over 100. The biggest was 125. My cows can handle 100 pound calves but they are a tough sell. This Broadway bull calf was born 9/15/2017. Only 91 pounds. I sold him to a producer with the understanding that he is NOT calving ease. I saw the bull in the late summer of 2018. He was on totally fescue pasture that was overstocked. He was huge. Bigger framed than I expected and he was all muscle, no fat. The guy still has him and shares his use with a partner. He told me the bull is a beast.
Here are the Broadway EPDs. NOTE: THOSE WHO KNOW BROADWAY MAY WONDER WHERE THE WHITE IS ON HIS RIGHT NOSTRIL. IT IS THERE. THIS IS A SELECT SIRES REVERSE PHOTO. AS I UNDERSTAND, THE PHOTO IS ACTUALLY HIS LEFT SIDE,.

He is a powerful looking devil. For me there is lots to like with regards to phenotype. He did end up with the Angus head, although I'm not saying that's a bad thing. What is his percentage? I can't find that on his pedigree.

I can't find that on his pedigree. Purebred. He gets his power from his Grandsire. Upgrade is one of the top bulls in the Modern American Simmental breed. I have used Upgrade here. Nice big stout bull.

I thought a PB would have his percentage listed on the pedigree, but I don't see it. Not in the ASA. Percentage is treated as a different category. Once they are bred up to above 7/8 th or maybe it is 7/8th. They are considered PB. HERE IS UPGRADE (CHECK THAT BW, 102): NOTE: NICHOLS LEGACY IS A FOUNDATION BULL

I wonder why they wouldn't include the percentage. The Canadian Simmental Association puts it right at the top of the page. 28/32 is listed as: Book: Percentage
30/32 is listed as Book: Pure Bred

An ASA goal in its mission statement is to foster a producer friendly Association. I will try to find the wording.
