No, and they won't till they get the pieces all together in one place, inspect it all, and rule out mechanical trouble. Doubtful that model had VCR or flight data recorder 'black boxes' but may have had some sort of data recorder for maintenance purposes.
. He had just requested flight following from atc and atc told him he was too low for them to provide flight following. His last communications with ATC was that he was going to climb to avoid low clouds, and ATC asked what he was going to do once he got there. No response from the helo..crash happened very soon after that. Loss of spatial awareness would be my amateur guess.
