Here are some heifers calves, that have come over the last few days. The first one is technically not from a heifer but it’s small size should have been the size calf she had last year as a heifer. This one is out of a Hereford heifer and Angus bull This one we found today and were surprised by its color. The mother is black commercial Angus and our bull that was with them was a registered Angus that did not carry a red gene. Our neighbor however has Jersey type cattle and I remembered getting a little jersey bull out of our heifer field last spring, just a day before I turned our bull out. At least it’s a heifer calf maybe she will make a cow.

I can relate. Ten years ago the neighbors bull was in our pasture and 9 months later we had the quintessential red headed step child. Still have her, love her to death and bless her heart you can spot her a mile away. One of these things is not like the others!
