in Missouri, I was flipping through their bull videos and looking at their catalog and ran across a red bull I really like Lot 8. He's sired by a CDI Authority son out of a WLE Uno Mas daughter. He's a 3/4 simmental 1/4 angus. Typed in his Reg# to look at his epds and lineage better and saw he's listed as Hetero. Black Homo Polled. Must be the wrong bull or a mistake on the papers. I know when I register mine I make sure it's reported right and done correctly. Mine gets looked over with fine eye for any mistakes.

I have gone to their annual production sale. They have excellent cattle.

Ron I figured it is the right bull to the papers but just listed as hetero black when it should be red. Don't know very much about them or the operation but really liked that bull on video. If I needed one now I'd be going to missouri and hoping I could win the high bid he'd click well with my red purebreds. Vegas is doing well and I won't need a breeding age bull for a while that's where White Eagle comes in, keep that calf a growing.

Vegas is doing well and I won't need a breeding age bull for a while that's where White Eagle comes in, keep that calf a growing. I register online pursuant to the Total Herd Enrollment program. As such, I can "cost free" register every calf born. So all my calves are enrolled at birth online. When the registration information is typed in, you have to be careful because once you hit enter, you cannot edit the registration. So the birthweight, sex, date of birth, polled versus horned, Heterozygous versus Homozygous, etc, etc needs to be correct. If you make a mistake, you have to call ASA and have one of their staff make the correction. I see they have a sale coming up. The sale I go to is in the spring. Called something like "Buckle and Spurs Sale". White Eagle is growing. Very docile.

The old timers followed the cow families for a reason, I believe thatis where the true strength in breeding stock lays.

How old is Tatum now? She's been doing really good for you, I remember her as a calf Tatum has never been in a pasture with a bull! I got to thinking. I have cows going on 10 and 11 years old that have never missed a calf and they have never been bull bred. Plus, I have never had a cow in 8 years that went open. I have had a couple abort late but none have ever failed to breed back.

They all look great, Ron. I agree the cow line is smart to follow. After all it takes a great cow to make a great bull. Its harder to know all the info about them unlike the sires. Easy to get info on the sires through out the stud services and others whom have used the bull before. I like the Grandmaster & Black Joker blood on the maternal side. Think Lucky Dice was over there too. Yeah I've talked to the Double Diamond once or twice at the bulls of the bluegrass sales were nice people and the cattle looked nice. Also the Hooks Program seem to be one of the best in the country. Like the Substance and Invasion bloodlines on the paternal side. Again I think those pedigree's will stack nicely with my cow families.
