So I drove into town to the coffee shop to consult with the old-timers. General consensus is this kinda cold I'd dangerous for man and hard on equipment. ...best to just sit here till the sun gets up good and high.

Was 17 here this morning, supposed to get to 29 later today. My general consensus is that it’s too darn cold but cattle still have to be fed. Glad there weren’t any calves born last night, be great if they would hold off at least through tonight then the weather looks some better.

-25 here this morning. I have various good friends calving out their cows right now... brave souls. We have ONE cow due any day now, looks like I might be lucky and she will hold off until next weekend, when its supposed to be 40 above out!

I saw 18* a couple of hours after the sun came up. I walked right past my weather station on the TV cabinet and headed straight for the coffee pot. Then I remembered to look to see how low it got.
