My heavy Clay soil compacts really bad Plus I've heard a light disk set straight can thicken Bermuda. My grass is just starting to show green. To late? Just right are wait until it starts running?

Slow slow slower is the way I would do it so all you do it cut the stolons and open the dirtup. a heavy rain will wash it back level.

If you've got the moisture, now would be a good time to do it. I'd assume it would be about like using a ripper, but just not getting as deep.

I used to chisel mine just before I spread fertilizer. That was a red sand field and the ground settled quick.
