Purchased some heifers. We synced and AI’d 2 weeks ago. I need to brand them ASAP. Is it safe to brand now? Or should I wait ? I was told I could throw the embroyo if I brand to soon ?

though I doubt you have to worry about the embryo becoming unattached ..id hold off till I knew for sure they were safe..no sense in banging them around too soon.and the squeeze ..branding can be fairly stressful on em..

Agree with alacowman... I wouldn't get in a hurry because it is very stressful and stress can cause hormonal disturbances that can affect embryo retention in early pregnancy.
Heat or even just moving them a long distance can stress them and affect pregnancy.

I forget the exact date that' I'd quit worrying completely but it's sometime shortly after a month. Two weeks is somewhat of a tender time, not because of the ones that stuck, but because of the ones that didn't getting ready to cycle again. Adrenaline binds to the same receptor as lutenizing hormone so if you get them wound up now they may not return to estrus. I wouldn't worry a whole lot about it either way unless you have tons of money tied up in them.

I would wait at least 30 days.
