Can’t be, Obama fixe that years ago for us. That sucks Kenny. Medicare doesn’t cover you yet? Wife and I have looked at it several times and health insurance is only thing holding us up. Gotta work a full time job just to pay for crappy coverage.
We will have to come up with another reason/ way to get together soon.

Guess I'm back to work for a couple more years. Checked on retiring and to keep the same insurance would be $1474 per month. State would pay $144 and me the remainder. I can't do it on that. Haha....Obamacare....doesn’t tax credits phase out at about $73000 taxable for a family of two? Ya might just need to work through December.

There are several of the "share" health care groups. Most are church based. I looked at Liberty health care very very carefully when I was going to lose my health care insurance at 60 , but things at work changed, and made it so I could swallow staying. Believe me the minute I qualified for Medicare, I took it and it came along as I lost my full time status so it was perfect timing. My monthly share to pay would have been about 250 because I was overweight by their standards ( I am overweight, no argument) it would have been about 190 if I got down to an acceptable weight. They share all your medical expenses...... One of my dairy farmers has it now and he says they are sometimes a little slow to pay or reimburse, but it is saving him nearly 1000/ month. Family plan although I think one or 2 of his sons are now old enough to go on their own but it was 5 when he switched.
Go online, look it up and talk to someone. They sent me a package in the mail to fill out and I talked to them on the phone. Don't know how it will work because you have had some health issues in the past. And your wife might e able to go on it and save you some money on your work ins and then you can just switch to medicare in 2 years. Talk to cowrancher since they have it and they can tell you alot more than I can.

I retired at 65 1/2. I was on medicare by then. I didn't start SS until I turned 66 to get the full boat. I had enough vacation time built up to pay the difference for those 6 months. I got to say retirement is the best job I ever had. I have about $100 a month less coming in than when I was working and I have to pay my medicare supplement. But that is only about $150 a month. Like you I have enough cows to keep me busy. A person has to stay busy.
