Maybe with all the letters sent to senators and much written about the subject got their attention. I surely hope so.

Today we sold 4 pound cows, decent shape and 3 were big frame cows. Don’t know the breakdown of each one but the total was $1200, The groceries are selling out of hamburger so I’m sure there are no sales on it on that end either. The farmers and consuming public are both being taken advantage of

Culls were up to 90 last week this week back to 50 . All they did was drive price up to get people to sell and then stole them.

I have a couple of calves up I was putting some weight on before I sold them. I already had them going so just dicided to pour the corn to them and sell them as halves later this summer. I've been talking about doing it and just dicided it beats playing Russian rulete at the sale right now.

I think that’s what we are going to do too it’s a sad state of affairs to give them away now when the stores can’t keep it in stock. What worries me is when or if this thing breaks and things get back the excuse then will be well people are stocked up on it and not buying whether there be any truth to it or not but the poor old cattle farmers get the short end of everything.

Last Wednesday’s sale had 500 some head and yesterday’s was a few over a thousand. I was told by a guy to wait 3 weeks sell any if I had some and that dumb ass took a load Monday. He called me this morning and said he will still make a little but should have followed his own advice.

The huge drop in the cull cows here in the east is due to the shutting down of one plant in Pa by JBS due to workers being sick. Heard there was another plant shut down but didn't get any details.
