Hey M5! My Mom needs a new roof, or at least she needs half of a new roof. Her ex had the other half done 5 or 6 years ago. She's in Crestview and we can't do roofs anymore, or even get over there right now to help screen contractors.
Is it true Fla is mandating a min. 40 year shingle?
She's going on 80, and will only be in this house a few more years at the most and doesn't need to shell out any more of her retirement savings than is absolutely necessary. She needs (okay, I need!!) someone trustworthy who won't take advantage of a little old lady. Feel free to PM if you prefer

They don't make a 40yr anymore. All architectural shingles are limited lifetime so they qualify technically as a 50yr . But I still sell quite a few 25yr 3 tabs north of i10 but I am not aware of what codes are in Okaloosa county . I will reach out to our guy in ft Walton for a recommendation and pm you his details.
