I would like to get my hands on a good Leachman Boomtime bull again. I don't know of anyone around here that uses that line of breeding. I can for sure say that it was one of the top lines as far as I can say. He was the best cow maker for sure. The bull that I had out of him were more often heifers than bulls, but the bulls he did make I had no troubles selling them for herd bulls. They all developed the crested necks early and grew quickly.
I saw where they still sell the semen for $25 and the certificate for $40 or 45. I do wish I had the capability of being able to hold my arms up so high and be able to hold my arms in the same spot when she is pushing. I give out quickly, and it makes me so mad. If I could, I would breed every cow and heifer I have to him.
Boomtime did not have the largest Ribeye, but he had one of the fullest bodies. His calves were fuller bodied and weighed more than the others I had. Even thought they push the Ribeye and the major cuts on a cow, they still don't pay them for us. Lots of years have gone by and they have not pushed that project forward at all.
If anyone ever runs across a sale running Leachman Boomtime bull calves, let me know if you don't mind.
