I have this type mineral feeder that I am tickled with. It never rains inside the feeder and the mineral is always dry. It will hold 150 lbs of mineral, 50 lbs in each section. They make a cover for it that has a wicking action underneath the cover that allows a Permethrin based fly product to soak it. Then when the cattle go to lift the flap, the mineral oil mixed with the fly product get on the cattle's head which keep the flies off the cattle's faces. The cover is not cheap as it runs $180 from the site I am looking at. I will shop around more if I find good reviews about the product. I wondered if anyone used this kind of fly protection before? I would hate to spend the money to find out that the oil would all run down into the mineral or that it drains out on the ground. I went ahead and showed the entire mineral feeder with the cover. Well crap, I cannot add the picture to the message. It is called Bull Master II with Fly Killer Cover. Maybe this one will work.....
