I purchased the Fly Killer Kover that goes over the ground mineral feeders. It has been on for two days now, and the cows are a bit weary of the new device. But a few have been using it. I can tell immediately who is using it because there is not a single fly on their face. So, if they will all start using it, then it will be a good purchase. I will just keep an eye on it and see what happens. I hope the babies begin to lift the cover. It is a bit lighter than the original cover so I hope they flip it up. I will report back as things change.

It is a more soft rubber, but underneath the top, there is a heavy piece of felt that allows the insecticide to wick down into the felt. When the cow lifts the flap up, they rub their head and neck in the solution, and it keeps the flies off their faces. Those face flies are tough this year too. I am noticing the cows lifting the flap up with their noses, and then backing away. The instructions say that it will take a couple of days for them to get used to the Killer Kover. I was thinking when I got it, that I could fill it up and then it would slowly wick down over several days, but that is not the case. You must put just enough in it each day or every other day. www.valleyvet.com/ct_detail.html?pgguid=A1847B18-3BEF-4C75-BD3F-AA8ED1238085
