That sounds really nice cowrancher75. You will sure enjoy that and will never regret having spent the money for it. That would be one of those projects that each time I walked in to use it, I would grow to appreciate it more each time I used it.

Something to consider. I installed my tire troughs in the edge of 4 paddocks. The water can be accessed from any of the 4 by opening a spring gate.

I do have one I put in the middle of 4 paddocks so they can still get full access but it serves more area. with the layout of my place and how the land runs I could only do that in one place.

thanks chuckie. setting up the place for daily moves . hopefully it improves the bottom line.. be able to see the animals everyday, be able to check fences and problems everyday.. hopefully run some more cattle. I couldn't even use over 100 acres b/c of lack of water. I have them in there now since its cooler so they can walk to water... but not being able to use that and other areas I really lost a lot of forage growth.

I wish I were much younger and could justify spending the money on a new facility. But being 64, I know that most likely that I won't be able to do what I want to in a few years. So, I have to really think about what I am doing. I just hate growing up and having to think things out.
But if I knew I had 25+ years ahead of me to use the facility, I would build it. Same thing wanting a used cab tractor. I would love to have another JD 90 HP 4WD cab tractor, but I know that I have cut my number of cattle down here, and that I do not make enough from the cattle to justify the cost of replacing a transmission or something major. A transmission would cost almost the same amount that I could buy the tractor for. The tractor could probably be bought for $28,000 if you did not get in a hurry, but replacing the transmission would cost over $20,000 to pull and replace what ever is messed up.
Sometimes I hate logic!! Ha-ha!! Then there are times I wonder why I did not use it.

Depending on your set up. Home place 1000 gal tank with float is divided into 1/3rds more or less. 60 running one side, 79 first calf heifers watering on another part. They tend to trickle in a few at a time, and don't really see a lot of pushing. But it's got solid pipe fence across it, so they can't tear it up if they did get to pushing. Only experience with one divided like that.
