I'm needing to look into set of hearing aids for when I'm not around the house. And from what I can gather it's Siemens or Bell Tone, but I'm all ears.

I could probably use some. Cant hear squat in crowded areas or anywhere theres background noise That may not be hearing loss but the opposite and if it is, hearing aides won't help. Some people's hearing is too acute..they hear "too well"...hear everything around them close or in the background and as a result, have trouble differentiating what is the conversation and what isn't. It has a medical name which I forget but one of the main symptoms is that they speak pretty low tone or volume all the time, because to them, even their own voice seems loud if they speak in a 'normal volume'. I suffer from this myself. If I walk into a busy store like Walmart, I instantly hear this loud hum of voices all melded together, but can pick out private conversations 2 aisles over. I've heard some very interesting conversations in restaurants from people (usually couples) at other tables that were whispering among themselves. otoh, lots of people nowadays, seem to have some kind of hearing ailment wherein they can hear fine but they don't have the ability to listen.....

My ears have been ringing terrible for 30 years. I was told years ago hearing aids would help the ringing issue but salt water and hearing aids aren't very compatible.

I have the best of all worlds. I have acute hearing plus "cookie cutter" hearing loss plus tinitis. I can hear certain people from across the room when they whisper, there are some ladies voices that I can't hear at all, and some days the static is so loud I can't even hear myself think. I really should go back in and get hearing aids but ten years ago when I had it checked they said it was still good enough that aids would drive me nuts.

We've attended a few churches and never went back because what they considered Praise music was so loud I couldn't tolerate it. The preacher would be offering a prayer and the background music by the guitarist was louder then his speech.
Now before I attend a church I ask someone if the Praise band has a drummer. They usually get excited and say, "yes". I then ask if he's in a plexiglass box. If that answer is yes (and it most often is) I won't be attending there.
There are many voices I can't hear clearly, but I'm thankful to be alive...so a slight lack of hearing isn't too critical.

There are many voices I can't hear clearly, but I'm thankful to be alive...so a slight lack of hearing isn't too critical. Amen to the loud music deal. I had high pitch ringing for years from a temporary deafness in the right ear. Then about 3 years ago the lower tone ringing started and increased so that I could virtually hear nothing in a crowd or with a background fan, hum, ... Some voices just became folks with their lips moving. I will need to look at the brand but I got hearing aids to deal mainly with the ringing. These are blu tooth, programmable, and the audiologist can add a catalog of tones that you can trial to see if the sounds generated by the hearing aids can retrain your brain to quit making the buzzing, ringing, whining or whatever you hear. I thought it would be a bust but all lower tone ringing is gone, most high pitch ringing is gone and I can hear pretty well in a crowd but despise loud music with a passion. I've thought about taking a hatchet to church and chopping off the plug to the organ at times. The guy thinks his job is to drown out singing and be the star of the show, I guess. According to current public sentiment and fake news he must be a raciest for hampering me and my hearing!
