Yep, we have a few Acres of it. I fertilized it yesterday. It has been planted in different times . Last year I mowed and baled it . Left the bales sitting to use as blinds . We had hundreds of birds the first weekend . Hurricane hit 2 weeks later and bird's really never came back

Usually leave some strips of Milo and shred em a week or so before. Plus we're planting oats right about then. I don't shoot many myself anymore. but we entertain some friends and family.

I like a good dove shoot. I do a lot more shooting at than killing. I'm feeding about a 100lbs a week of a cracked corn, wheat and sunflower mix.

Got some brown top planted in East Bama, will plow some ground and throw out wheat as well. Always seem to have a good little shoot, usually just family and friends. Try to have 3-4 shoots during season

The first 2 years after I had this place logged and cleared, it was covered in dove. I don't hunt them but my 2 neighbors did at the time. They were pretty irritated when I burned all the piles then started spraying the goatweed down. Wanted me to leave a bunch of it in goatweed and I told them to go plant it on their own places.

It's great how it seems everyone in TX dove hunts. Hardly anyone here does. But we don't have many birds either

What you calling goat weed? Was it like Fuzzy Croten? Reason I’m asking, got a place I could plant some stuff for the birds, and already have Croten there naturally, and looking for other stuff that will come back every year that birds like.
