Anybody using cattlemax software or something similar?
I can't remember things well enough anymore, I tried notepads but I can't keep up with them. Right now, i ask my 10 yo daughter, she remembers everything. I asked her the other day, when was that calf born, she blurted out Feb 3rd. She knows whose mamas whose.
I figured with something like cattlemax, she can go on keeping up with things and recording them in that software. When I need to know something I'll just look it up without having to call her...lol
So, is it worth it? User friendly? Any other options?

Use excel or a google doc here that can be shared. The pedigree info would be fun but didn’t think I could justify the cost of Cattlemax

I highly recommend it. For up to 100 head iirc it's a 100 bucks a year. It's only as good as info you put in . Once you get it set up it's very simple and always at your finger tips

Love it! We’ve used it for 4 years now. It’s a bit painful imputing everything to get it started. I.E. to get adjusted weaning weights, the dams must have birthdates entered
But when it comes to worksheets (weaning, pastures, breedings, etc...) it makes things a breeze.
You can also look at that cow and see what she weans off on average. I like that when making culling decisions. Well worth the money, IMO.

I use it too. Even for no more cows than I have it makes things a lot more organized.

Agree with NEFarmWife and M5. Its only as good as the data you start with but if you set it up right, its really nice.

I’ve used it long enough I don’t remember when I started. Probably close to 20 years. I have a stand alone version and just the basics, birth dates, weaning date and weight. Estimate calving dates and breeding. Can’t bring myself to pay $9 or more a month in perpetuity to access it anywhere. Could do a whole lot more with it than I do.

I like the fact it's stored in the cloud that way I do not have to worry about it. Each year I print everything off and put it with my taxes. That way I always have a backup and could start over if I needed to.
