That looks cold and wet. And none of the trees have limbs to speak of. Looks like a foreign land to me. Good idea on the feeder rack. They turn that over any?

Wind keeps the openings of the barrels turned away from the wind, and therefore the water / rain out. It's not cold in the pic, thus the wet ground. I can post pics of cooler weather

Can anyone comment on the Free Choice Compartmentalized Mineral program?
Basically, your minerals are sorted into about 20 individual compartments with stock taking exactly what they need and only what they need.
Of course, such a specialty is a bit more expensive.

I've always thought it was BS. Cows aren't any smarter than we are in knowing what mineral they need at a given time. They go for what tastes good, and that may change through out the course of the year. The money would be better spent IMO in having testing done on your forages and water and then have a custom mineral made.

I use 265 gallon totes. Cut a hole in the side and it’s ready. Can move them easy with a double hay spear or a pallet fork. I’ll try and get a picture tomorrow. This is what I use also. Can also drag behind atv to move. Best to have the ones on metal pallets if move by dragging. If know right people can get them for free. Many row crop farmers and ag chemical dealers have empties they will give away just to get rid of them. Many other uses for these totes.
